As it usually happens at the beginning of month, Google published a report about the fragmentation of their proprietary operating system. April was no exception, and today we have the opportunity to look at the results of the work of producers to upgrade their devices.
During the past month, the company was able to double the market share of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. “zephyr” now installed on 4.6% of Android devices, while in March, he was at the level of 2.3%. It’s pretty convincing growth, even if the overall rate is not as big as we would like.
It is interesting that after Android Lollipop captured 35.8% market share, is now its index by 0.3% less than last month – so maybe some additions were made to the Marshmallow by Lollipop. Moving on, Android 4.4 KitKat now holds 33.4% market share, which is 0.9% less in comparison with the March report.
On “jelly” version of Android – 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 – now accounts for 21.3% of all Android-devices, which is 1% less than before. only 0.1%, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Android 2.2 Froyo somehow managed to hold 2.6% and 0.1% respectively – Very proportion of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is slowly reduced.
As expected, no version with a share of less than 0.1% is not shown on the chart above. What we see here is some good changes to Marshmallow, but, judging by everything, we still long will observe the presence of Froyo and Gingerbread.
