Google acquired Fly Labs

David Lieb, responsible for developing Google Photos, confirmed that Google acquired “creators of the world’s best application for video editing». The program has broad functionality and many features that can be implemented on mobile devices.

Fly Labs applications have been downloaded more than 3 million times on iOS and have been used to create more than 20 million videos. With the Google acquisition, financial details of which were not disclosed, the application will be distributed free to all and will continue to be available in the App Store for 3 months, but without updates, after which they are deleted.

Fly Labs will focus on the integration of its technology with Google Photos. This should bring a much-needed boost to the video-editing capabilities Photos.
