Google has today announced the change of name of the subsidiary satellite system Skybox Imaging, which is now called Terra Bella. At the same time the company decided to extend the scope of the project.
Founded in January 2009, Skybox Imaging was acquired by Google in June 2014 for $ 500 million. At the time, the satellites were used to record the landscape with high detail and provide analytical services for business.
