In accordance with its current path of product development, the company MediaTek has expanded its family of processors «P» new model – Helio P20, which is expected to appear in consumer devices in the second half of 2016.
Chipset update looks like Helio P10, with a greater emphasis on improving energy efficiency. The chip promises to spend 25% less energy than its predecessor.
This is achieved by using eight cores Cortex-A53 clocked at up to 2.3 GHz. Graphics accelerator Mali-T800 operates on the 900 MHz that is currently the most powerful GPU from ARM. Also, the chipset supports memory LPDDR4X.
Latest technology comes with a 70% -s increase in capacity and a 50% reduction in energy consumption compared to LPDDR3, including by reducing the working voltage up to 0.6v.
Helio P20 Other specifications include support for 2K-display, 24-megapixel shooter, or modules, dual cameras at 13 megapixels each. Also, the processor supports cat.6 LTE, two SIM-cards with simultaneous standby mode. Among the connections are also listed: Wi-Fi ac, GPS / Glonass / Beidou, Bluetooth and FM radio.
