Like many other manufacturers of smartphones, HTC is going to enter the market of smart watches. And if earlier information that the Taiwanese company plans to release the device to Android Wear, was only on the level of rumors, now in HTC’s intentions there is no doubt.
Director General of the company HTC, Cher Wang, is confident that the company will make a splash in the market with its own wearable proposal. She told about the device in an interview at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
However, the CEO did not disclose details about the upcoming device, but it has made the statement that when HTC will release a smart watch, it is upside down the industry on its head.
CFO Chalin Chang, who also attended the conference, said that the company still has to figure out how smart watches will co-exist with other products of HTC, before starting an accessory.
The rumors that HTC is developing a smart watch, first appeared back in 2013, but new rumors suggest that the wearable device – reportedly dubbed the One HTC – will be launched in April this year.
