Traditionally, the end of the year – time to take stock of different outcomes. And although there is a second month of 2016, many companies continue to publish various reports over the past year. And now, IDC analysts published a report tablet market fragmentation and for the 4th quarter 2015.
According to IDC, the leader in the tablet market continues to be the company Apple. Although their sales and decreased by 24.8%, they managed to ship 16.1 million tablets in Q4 2015, down from 21.4 million units shipped in the same quarter of 2014.
Samsung has moved into second place with 9 million units sold. It is less than 11 million units that shipped in Q4 2014, showing a 18.1% decline. South Korea’s market share is 13.7%, while Apple is about 24.5%.
Amazon, Lenovo and Huawei have closed the top five in the 4th quarter of last year, with 7.9%, 4.8% and 3.4% share respectively of the market. It is worth noting that Amazon grew by 175.7%.
Speaking about the year 2015 as a whole, while Apple and Samsung have retained positions with 24% and 16.2% market share, respectively, the Lenovo company has risen to third place with 5.4%. ASUS Company and Huawei took fourth and fifth place with 3.4% and 3.1% market share, respectively.
