International Trade Commission in the United States ruled in favor of Samsung, saying that some of the patents have been infringed by NVIDIA.
The case concerns three patents Samsung, which relate to the manufacture of GPUs. Samsung claims that NVIDIA has violated patents when building their own processors.
Improved graphics accelerators have become increasingly important as smartphones and tablets are increasingly used for gaming and watching movies.
The Korean electronics manufacturer said that their basic schematics, less work faster and better. This saves costs for manufacturers, and helps to improve video performance.
Disputes between Samsung and NVIDIA have been going on for over a year, since NVIDIA lawsuit against Samsung after the start of licensing issues.
ITC previously ruled that NVIDIA is not right, even though the company had violated the plans to appeal the decision.
This week the ITC decision is subject to review by the full commission, which can block production in the United States, if they deem it appropriate.
