When it comes to mobile photography, rare flagships of different sensors, cameras. There are quite a high chance that the smartphone has an Exmor matrix from Sony, as the Japanese corporation is the leader in the market of mobile cameras and a priority partner in supplying high-end mobile devices.
According to some estimates, Sony accounted for over 40% of all sales. But what about the rest? The remaining share is distributed between between the Californian company OmniVision (~ 16%) and Samsung (~ 15%), as well as other smaller players.
As the runner-up spot, OmniVision, the company is one of which you’ve probably heard. And now, OmniVision announced that they have a new high-end sensor.
Sensor called OV16860, it has a 1 inch / 2.4-inch size 10.5h10.5 mm height 5.8 mm, which makes it suitable for use in most smart phones. The sensor resolution of 16 megapixels received, and the pixel size was 1.3 microns.
There is also support for the phase autofocus, HDR and slow-motion video shooting.
The most interesting is that the first sensor module on the market that is capable of recording 4K-video c 60 fps.
While it is known that a similar load can handle Snapdragon 820, so we can expect a smartphone with this tandem.
