Now, the Chinese analyst Ban Dzhiyutang revealed some details about the next-generation flagship Snapdragon chipset. Although he does not mention the name of the processor, he called codename SoC – MSM8998.

According to him, the next generation of Snapdragon will continue to use Kryo core and will be manufactured at a much more efficient 10-nm process technology. The chip will also come with a new LTE-modem X16.

Along with this information, the analyst added that many of the leaders of 2016 will be based on the Snapdragon 652 (MSM8976), rather than the Snapdragon 820. The reason for this is the high cost of 820 th and 652 eight-core Snapdragon architecture is sufficient to meet all needs.

As is known, the Snapdragon 652 comes with a quad-core Cortex-the A72 and four Cortex-A53 cores and graphics accelerator Adreno 510. Other features include LTE X8, supporting Quad HD-displays and Hexagon DSP.
