The leader in the supply of display panels with a diagonal 9 inches or less has become Samsung, with 23% of all revenues. Japan Display is in second place with 16%, followed by LG Display with 13% and Dell with 10% of the market.

Of course, most of Samsung wins can be attributed to the success of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but along with it a lot of Chinese manufacturers are turning to the AMOLED-panel technology from Samsung, as they are famous for their quality and color.

It’s a serious shift in production since two years ago, Samsung Display reported that they had problems with the sale of its displays to other manufacturers. The report also pointed out that Apple Zakayev 100 million 5.5-inch displays, and if it is true, the company will completely dominate the display market for smartphones in the next few years.
