Sony is the biggest player in the market of mobile cameras and sensors, the company is now further strengthened its position.
The company announced that it will buy the Toshiba camera sensors department for 19 billion yen ($ 155 million).
Both companies are in the final stage of the transaction as early as October.
Today’s announcement that it has signed a definitive agreement marks that Toshiba’s factory for the production of equipment and about 1,100 employees, will come under the control of Sony.
They will work in subsidiaries Semiconductor Corporation, which was founded together with a number of others, to give Sony a different department greater autonomy.
Sony is a leading developer of mobile camera sensors. Cameras equipped with Sony’s flagships such as the Galaxy S6, LG V10 and Huawei Mate 8.
