Until now it was widely believed that the Snapdragon 820 will be produced by Samsung using the same 14nm FinFET-technology that Samsung currently uses to produce Exynos 7420.
Earlier today, the latest rumors from China resulted in some interesting information. Presumably, the Snapdragon 820 will initially be produced at 14nm FinFET-technology from Samsung, but soon the chip will go to the 10 nm process technology. According to rumors, the chipset mass production will begin in late 2015 or early 2016.
Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it has finalized the specifications for its 10nm FinFET process technology and manufacture of prototype is scheduled to begin in late 2015, and mass production – at the end of 2016.
On the other hand, did not name the exact Qualcomm’s technology, on which the Snapdragon 820 will be made, and the fact that there is still a lot of variations of production, should wait for the official statement of the company.
