MediaTek company plans to introduce its new processor Helio P20 later in the year, but the details of the chip has already leaked into the network.
According to the leak, Helio P20 will be the first chip MediaTek, the company that TSMC will manufacture 16nm at tezprotsessu. Until now, TSMC using 28nm process technology and 20nm processors for the production of MediaTek.
Even the world’s first desyatiyaderny processor, the Helio X20 uses 20nm process technology. Thus, this is the first time the company has approached much more efficient workflow.
Unlike previous rumors, which said that Helio P20 receive desyatiyadernuyu architecture, a new leak points to an eight-core processor with Cortex-A53. The kernels will work with a clock frequency of 2.3 GHz instead of 2.0 GHz, in Helio P10. The novelty will support Full HD-display, 24-megapixel camera and LTE cat. 6.
Next, the image shows that the new chip will receive a 15% increase in CPU performance and GPU performance to increase to an impressive 50%. Also, the power consumption will decrease by 25%, which is quite logical, given that the chip is manufactured using a more efficient process technology.
With regard to the release, the picture shows that Helio P20 will be released in Q3 2016. So, hopefully, we will be able to see smart phones based on this chip before the end of 2016.
