The closer we get to the announcement Xiaomi Mi5, which will take place on February 24, the more and more details about the device are clearly. We already know that the smartphone will use the Snapdragon 820 and now it seems, it has learned the device’s screen resolution.
CEO, Lebanon Jiang, on his page on Weibo posted record that the upcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi5 will come with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
This is contrary to previous rumors, which claimed that the flagship will have at least one version with Quad HD-display. But given that Jiang reiterated it today, it seems, Xiaomi has already decided not to use the upcoming 2K device.
While some fans may be disappointed to hear this news, this still makes sense. Rather diagonal screen novelties will no longer 5.2 inches. Given this, the pixel density of the device 424 will be the PPI, which should provide sufficient sharpness and clarity of an image.
Plus, 2K displays consume much more energy than the panel with a resolution of 1080p, which means that you get a longer duration of operation on a single charge. Also, Lebanon Jiang adds that it will not be an ordinary Full HD-display, so that we can expect something completely new.
