Along with Huawei, Xiaomi is now one of the largest Chinese manufacturers of smartphones. Last year, the company managed to sell 70 million smartphones this year the company plans to improve their results by announcing a couple of really interesting devices. And we now know about the results of the company’s equipment sales in the first quarter of 2016.
Famous Chinese analyst Kevin Wang, who works for the IHS, said that that Xiaomi managed to sell 14.8 million units in the first quarter, including the sale of a teacher outside of China. Now, it is almost identical to the result of the previous year, where Xiaomi managed to ship 14.98 million units in the first quarter of 2015.
It’s good results for the producer, especially considering the fact that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is still available only through flash sales, and Xiaomi, as a whole expects sales growth soon after the Mi 5 will be available on a wider scale. Redmi 3 Pro also promises to be an interesting device, and the company plans to introduce several more devices in the coming months.
So it will be interesting to see the results of the first half of Xiaomi, after 5 Mi really starts to affect the total sales of the company. Xiaomi devices companies are still very limited in terms of availability, but it is likely that the company will expand its presence in other major markets, as did Huawei.
